I bet your wondering... "How do I build, or make, an Easter Egg?" It's really quite simple. First, you need a game with software/hardware to make and play your levels. Games like Minecraft and Super Mario Maker are the best choice. Second, you need to think of what kind of easter egg, whether it be a enchanted sword in Minecraft, one of the types of easter eggs, (see "Types of Easter Eggs.") or a special amiibo costume in Super Mario Maker. Next, make your level to what you think is the best way to have it. Games where the road is laid out for you, however, aren't the best option, because it will probably ruin the expierience of the player. Finally, put it in a hard to reach place or an area requiring some sort of key or access mechanic, like a P-switch that apppears at the end of the level after 100 seconds in Super Mario Maker. Talk about a long wait! And that is one way out of many to make an Easter Egg. This one is probably the easiest.
